IIFA Awards 2017

The 18th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards are around the corner and ready to set your heart racing with enthralling performances and star-studded events. The 2017 edition of the glamorous Awards show is being held in New York from 14-15 July. So what does IIFA 2017 have in store for us?

The highlight of this year’s Awards ceremony is the power-packed performances by Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt, among others. These stars have raised expectations at the recently held IIFA press conference, making fans even more excited for the event. Saif Ali Khan and Karan Johar are set to host the event along with Varun Dhawan, the newest heartthrob of tinsel town, who will ramp up the comic element.

The IIFA 2017 also includes an interesting list of nominations. The talk of the town includes movies such as Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’, Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Fan’, Sonam Kapoor’s ‘Neerja’ and Sushant Singh Rajput’s ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’. IIFA is, however, not only about awards; it also includes IIFA Stomp (a free public event showcasing an entertaining mix of fashion, high-octane music and dance), IIFA Business Forum and IIFA Rocks Green Carpet events.

However, this year, the IIFA Awards hold a greater relevance in the world of cinema because of the involvement of several Indian actors in international projects. Some of these stars include Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra, Anil Kapoor and Irrfan Khan, all of who are shining in the international movie arena with their blockbuster TV shows and movies.
